Write to us

A plain email is fine. There is no sign-in and no form. Including the following saves a few rounds of back and forth.

Please include
Whether you’re on iPhone or Mac, and which model; your iOS or macOS version; BuZhan’s version number (leave it out if you’re not sure); and what you did, what you expected to see and what happened instead. Screenshots help.
No need to include
The grievance you wrote down. Solving a problem never needs it. Check your screenshots too, so it isn’t in them.
Please don’t send
Passwords, card numbers, license keys, or sign-in details for any account. BuZhan has no accounts, and we will never ask you for these.
After you write
How emails are kept and deleted is covered in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app does not delete emails you have sent.

Night Pond and StandBy

For the steps to start it, see How to Use · Night Pond.

Night Pond disappeared on its own.

It runs as a Live Activity. A Live Activity lasts up to about 8 hours, and then the system ends it. That isn’t an error. Go back to the app and tap Start Night Pond again.

It doesn’t end at midnight; the count just shows 0. When you go back to the app, it picks up today’s count.

My iPhone is charging on its side, but StandBy isn’t full screen.

All of these need to be true: you have tapped Start Night Pond; Settings › StandBy is on; the phone is on a charger, on its side and still; and you have pressed the side button to lock it. If it still isn’t full screen, tap the small icon at the top of the screen.

Only Night Pond can go full screen. In StandBy, BuZhan’s widgets can only appear small, side by side.

Live Activities are turned off. Where do I turn them on?

In Settings, find BuZhan and turn on Live Activities; you can search for it at the top of Settings. Then go back to the app and tap Start Night Pond.

Open Settings in the app only opens the first page of Settings, not BuZhan’s page: BuZhan has no settings of its own, so iOS has no page of BuZhan’s to open. Scroll down to BuZhan.

Keyboard shortcut,Shortcuts and Siri

For setup steps, see Mac, Siri and Before You Dive In.

Why ⌃⌥⌘D on the Mac?

The handier ⌥⌘D already belongs to macOS, which uses it to hide or show the Dock, so BuZhan adds ⌃. In this version it can’t be changed to another combination.

You can also click the drop in the menu bar and choose Write It Down…. It opens the same input bar.

After Five-Second Full-Screen Pause, why can’t I go back to the other app automatically?

iOS can’t switch you back to the app you were opening. When the countdown ends, Dive In appears, and you go back yourself: tap the back link in the top-left corner, or swipe sideways along the bottom of the screen.

If you’d rather not go back by hand every time, use Pause Before You Dive In instead. It doesn’t switch apps; the passage shows right over the current screen.

Why is there no Run Immediately in iOS 27 automations?

iOS 27 folds automations into Shortcuts itself: tapping + opens a shortcut editor, and the old Run Immediately is gone. The steps are different now: search for “App” below to get the trigger, and keep Show When Run on when you add Pause Before You Dive In. The full steps are in How to Use · Before You Dive In.

Why doesn’t Siri ask me what happened?

On purpose. Let Something Slide takes no parameters: Shortcuts and Siri would write any parameter text into the system’s action history and logs, and the app can’t stop that. So nothing you write ever passes through Siri. Siri just counts one drop and answers Slid off. N drops today..

If you want to write it down, open the app and write it there. What you write is not kept; it is released when the animation ends.

Count, keyboardand deleting

BuZhan keeps only two things: today’s count and its date. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

When does the count reset?

Every day at midnight, by the date on that device. The app, the widgets and Night Pond all start again from 0. After midnight, Night Pond shows 0, and when you return to the app it counts today’s drops.

iPhone and Mac each keep their own count. They don’t sync, so the two numbers may differ.

Words I typed in BuZhan show up in my keyboard’s suggestions.

That is the system keyboard at work: it learns the words you type. BuZhan can’t control that, and it doesn’t keep those words.

To clear what the iPhone keyboard has learned: Settings › General › Transfer or Reset iPhone › Reset › Reset Keyboard Dictionary. This clears every word the keyboard has learned, not only the ones typed in BuZhan. Third-party keyboards keep their own word lists, which you clear in that keyboard. On a Mac, how to clear them depends on the input method you use.

What does deleting the app delete?

Deleting BuZhan on iPhone removes the app, its widgets, today’s count and the date together. What you write was never kept, so there is nothing else to delete. On a Mac, after you move it to the Trash, the count and date may stay behind in the app’s sandbox container.

Some things are not deleted with it. Automations and shortcuts you built in Shortcuts: delete them yourself. Words the keyboard has learned: see the previous answer. Support emails you have sent: see the Privacy Policy.

Devices and languages

Coming soon to the App Store. For what changed in each version, see the Release Notes.

Which devices does it run on?

Only iPhone and Mac for now: iPhone needs iOS 17 or later, and Mac needs macOS 14 or later. The counts on the two don’t sync.

BuZhan isn’t on the App Store yet, and there is no download until it is.

Is the app available in other languages?

Yes. The app comes in 简体中文, 繁體中文 and English, and uses your system language by default (Follow System). To pick one yourself, use Language at the bottom of the iPhone main screen, or Language in the menu under the drop in the Mac menu bar; the widgets and Night Pond follow. After switching, some text supplied by the system only changes once you reopen the app.

This site is in the same three languages, and buttons and actions on these pages are named as the app shows them in that language.
